If you happened to watch the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games opening ceremony from anywhere in the world, you would have seen something I shot for Director Alex Chomicz and Kiosk Films. The piece was a series of Australians from all over the country singing the national anthem, that was cut in with the live vision of the National Anthem that was sung in the stadium during the opening ceremony. The job took us to some very remote and tricky parts of Australia, on a range of different transportation, so for most of the job we had to pack super light. Dealing with all the elements was challenging at times, and most of the shots needed to be achieved with a single light + bounce and diff/neg, (one time I used my van as a mega bounce 🤫) Anyway here’s some screenshots, Australia rules!
